Update your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to 7.o levels now, with this library from Dean Edwards: no more hacks for CSS!

Just learned about this at a recent conference. You can now download a neat library from Dean Edwards that will upgrade your IE to 7.0 levels:

This download (as mentioned, *still in alpha*) fixes problems with IE’s CSS support. Now you can have pure CSS menus in IE, which previously worked only in other browsers such as Mozilla!

Addendum: Please note that this is not from Microsoft, as mentioned by Dean in comment 1.

This is *NOT* from Microsoft. It is my own library that is included in web pages to fix known rendering problems.

Thanks Dean. Have updated the entry. It’s a cool hack!

How is this 7.0 different from fake browser stamps?

  4. sniptools says:

Mangle, I guess that’s a rhetorical question? Fake stamps are easy to manipulate in your browser, they don’t really carry much meaning. I could ask my Opera to declare itself to web servers as “MSIE 10.56.190.1″ for all you know.

The above set of libraries is, as Dean clarified, not really MSIE7.0 but some code that equips IE to handle some CSS hacks easily. HTH.

I do have Firefox and access via IE does now seem as quick.
