Comments on: Updating / patching Office XP to service pack 1, 2 and 3 (sp1, sp2 and sp3 respectively)

have windows XP SP3, everythings ok but cannot update, always getting message that can’t file the file “proplus.msi”. when I checked with Microsoft as I did not get the CD with the computer, they said after I do a back-up. I had to delete windows and re-install. this is so much work, is it possible to install only this specific file. Thank you for your help.

My boss’s Microsoft Office will not open any documents…it keeps asking for the “product key number”, we do not have the disk or any of the documents that came with this system, is there a way to renew/download the PID?

Hi:
I am having major problems…I reinstalled xp1 and have no ms office on my pc,now I tried to reinstall office have errors cause I gotta use sp2.The problem is sp2 have problems updating.

Hi, I’m having the same exact problem as Jeff and Tom – an unsuccessful SP3 update and now I can’t open Excel (but Word is fine). Any help would be appreciated!

I found that you donot have to create a second admin point or do you have to type a product key at any time.

I have tried to install SP3 but now I can not use Xcel. Word is fine but every time I try to open Excel my computer tries to install the upgrade wich can not find the “Pro.MSI” on my office XP disk
I can not just go back and delete the latest upgrade because it will not let me. Any ideas please help

I have downloaded WMP 10 and want to install it but I get the answer from Win Media Technologies that this version is not compatible with the actual Windows version. Thus I am unable to start the media player. Is ther anyone on the net reading this that can help me and explain what I should do make things work together.

I am having a problem slipstreaming office xp pro w/sp3. I can’t seem to past the first step. after the command I get a message that office xp has been installed successfully and I am at a standstill I can’t seem to get to the next step. Any ideas?
