A neato little trick which works in both FireFox and Internet Explorer is the ability to run an Google search on highlighted text.

It’s simple: just highlight some text on a web page, right click on it and select the menu option “Search the web for [your highlighted text].” Don’t want this to be Google but your favorite search engine? This works using the default web search engine set in your browser preferences, so it can surely be something other than Google.
