If you are out of disk space, and still want to run Linux, Knoppix is a pretty decent choice. My experiences with the truth.

I’m also using Knoppix as my main
Linux operating system now, because I ran out of room on my hard drive for
Mandrake. Knoppix runs off a CD, and I use the extra space on my backup drive as
a persistent home directory so that files and settings are saved each time.

It won’t be long before it is easy enough for mere mortals to href=”http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/KnoppixProjects”>remaster their own
custom Knoppix CDs, loaded with applications targeted for specific
audiences, maybe even as specific as a class of students. There are already
dozens of href=”http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/KnoppixCustomizations”>Knoppix
customizations, including href=”http://www.ofset.org/projects/edusoft/edusoft.html”>educational,
medical, and scientific
versions. Pretty cool!

I have been using Knoppix on my home comp for about a month or two now and am very very impressed. This live cd is honestly really the best distro i have used ever. I liked it so much that I was motivated to write a longish article on linux and knoppix on my blog (vritti.net).

i have used the knoppix distro, i wonder where it stores all the files which i save during the work. See to it, that i dont have any HDD or FDD atall.
i saved one perl file, and it did.
Any one any idea… — zoro
