Getting errors with WindowsUpdate?

August 23, 2003 Views (175,445) /  Comments (127) /  Trackback (0) / Digg/Share

So you receive an installation error on every package downloaded from the Windows Update website? If you experience installation errors while applying the patches, e.g., something on the lines of “Windows Update Error 0x800A138F” or “To install items from Windows Update, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group”, or “This system cannot be patched”, then following are some handy instructions to get around the annoyance.

  1. First, click on START —> RUN —> regsvr32 iuctl.dll /u —> OK to un-register the library.
  2. Then, use START —> SEARCH to search for Files and Folders. Type iuengine.dll, iuctl.dll into the file search box.
  3. Delete all occurrences of these two files, deleting the ones in %SystemRoot%\System32 (e.g., c:\windows\system32) last.
  4. Close all Internet Explorer Windows.
  5. Use CONTROL PANEL —> INTERNET OPTIONS to delete your Temporary Internet Files, checking Delete all offline content, and pressing OK
  6. Press the Clear History button and YES to confirm the deletion.
  7. On the Security tab, select Trusted Sites. Set the security to Low and Apply the change.
  8. Press the Sites button.
  9. Uncheck Require server verification. Type http://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Press Add and OK.
  10. Press OK to close the Internet Options dialog.
  11. Use My Computer / Tools / Folder Option / View to check show hidden files and folders.
  12. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to %ProgramFiles%\WindowsUpdate, generally at C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate.
  13. Delete every file and sub-folder, except the V4 sub-folder.
  14. Expand the V4 sub-folder and delete every file and sub-folder except iuhist.xml, which contains your Windows Update installation history.
  15. Disable any anti-virus, browser accelerators, and download utilities that might interfere with the native operation of Windows Update.
  16. Try using http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
NOTE: Make sure that any proxy server or firewall is NOT preventing Windows Update from working. These instructions have worked for friends with Windows 2000, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Pro.

ADDENDUM: 12 November, 2003

A user (“Gul”) wrote below in comments about getting the following error while executing Windows Update:

Error IUENGINE Library download error and timed out (45085 ms). Will not retry. (Error 0x80072EE2)

The first thing to do would be to look into your Windows Update log file. It is most likely located at the following location —

C:\Windows\Windows Update.log

The most recent log entries will be at the bottom. Look for any Failed update entries and you will see an error code next to it. The most likely entry you will see is:

Error IUENGINE Determining machine configuration (Error 0x8007007E: The specified module could not be found.)

Without getting too convoluted, following are two main reasons this could be happening:

  1. Have you installed the MS XML Parser (MSXML) version 3.0 - SP3? There’s a known bug in there that may be causing it.
  2. Secondly, it can also be caused by missing or corrupt dynamic link library (.DLL) files - CABINET.DLL and URLMON.DLL.

Here’s how to try and fix the 0x8007007E problem with Windows Update (for Windows XP) —

STEP 1: There are many applications that ship with MSXML 3.0. Uninstalling any one of those applications on a Windows XP system could potentially unregister the MSXML 3.0 assembly files (msxml3.dll and msxml3r.dll). We should only have to register just the one file. To Do This:

  1. Click Start menu, and then click the Run icon.
  2. In the small box that Opens, type the three letters: cmd then click the OK button.
  3. In the command prompt window that just opened (a black background and white text), type the following commands, pressing the ENTER key on your keyboard afterwards:
    regsvr32 msxml3.dll
    regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
  4. Reboot and try and Microsoft Windows Update again.

If Windows Update still gives an error, only then try Step 2:

STEP 2: We will need to reinstall the latest Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) version 3.0 SP4. First, download it from here:

Some notes:

  • You will need to reinstall MSXML 3.0 SP4 if you upgraded to Windows XP from a computer running Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0.
  • Windows 2003 server ships with version 3.0 - SP4 and so you do not need to install it.
  • Occasionally, setup may need to reboot the computer but fails to inform the user. Therefore reboot your machine just in case.
  • To install a localized (e.g. English) version of MSXML 3.0 SP4 on a system different from the previously installed version/locale (e.g. French) of MSXML 3.0 SP4, then unregister the existing installation package by executing the following command in a Command Prompt window:
    msiexec /qn /x {45534579-B75B-4A42-953B-2EF8E1DEB4F3}
Then, install the new localized version of MSXML 3.0 SP4.
  • Reboot, and try Windows Update again.

If you still see errors with Windows Update, only then move on to Step 3:

STEP 3: Windows XP comes with a nifty tool called System File Checker (SFC). It scans and verifies the versions of all protected system files after you restart your computer. However it can sometimes miss a problem, so we can run the tool now to replace CABINET.DLL and URLMON.DLL if there is a problem with them. To do this:

  1. Open up DOS prompt, and execute the following command:
    SFC /scannow
  2. Click OK
  3. You must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group to run SFC, and you may need your Windows XP CD during this procedure if SFC needs to get an original file. Please remember that Windows XP can have multiple instances of a .DLL file and remember which version is for which program.
If you want to see a “progress meter” when SFC runs, you need a registry hack. PLEASE do not go messing with your registry if you do NOT know what you are doing!

Assuming, you know what you are doing, here is some info that help you:

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: SFCShowProgress
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)

I am pretty sure your problem should have been solved at at least one of the steps above, but please let me know if it doesn’t!

Hi
I am not able to log onto microsoft windows update site. My desktop crashes as the page loads and then freezes. As well as I am not able to log onto hotmail ( on internet explorer and netscape) nor MSN chat.
In my windows update log it states as follows:
2003-11-11 09:18:50 14:18:50 Error IUENGINE Library download error and timed out (45085 ms). Will not retry. (Error 0x80072EE2)
Can someone help me please?

Hi Gul, that is also a common error. Guess you must have MSXML 3.0 installed? It messes up a few files.

I have added some suggested work-arounds to my notes above. Please check under the section “ADDENDUM” which I added today (12 Nov 2003).

Let me know if this helps.

Hi there,
I had reported to earlier about how I am not able to load microsoft windows update nor be able to log into msn messenger/go on hotmail.com either.
I have tried doing the following you suggested.
I have windows 98 operating system. I have not ever downloaded MSXML 3.0. Although what I did try doing was install 2.0 version of it after reading your comments. It says the specified service already exists.
Also I tried installing the file CABINET.DLL cause you said it maybe currupted. I have not been able to find that file online. But the other file URLMON.DLL i was able to download. If you can guide me into solving this problem i’d appreciate it!

This error code is not happening in safe mode. I have updated the computer to the most current state using safe mode. I have googled this error code and there are steps to fix the problem. http://www.updatexp.com/0x800A138F.html http://verisign.netscape.com/advisor/ms40.html this web site says that my ssdl is working correctly. There are knowledge base articles about this code. Many of them are reinstalling dll that are associated with internet explorer. The problem is related to logging into a secure web site. My hot mail does not work. My pay pal does not work. I have paid Microsoft to fix the problem. Support case number SRX 0312 0360 4344. One thing that Dell suggested was to install Opera and or Netscape Navigator. This I have done also. Still no secure web sites come up. https://www.microsoft.com does not work can not locate internet server or proxy server. If the web site had no s in the http then it work fine

You’z guys are Windows gods! (small ‘g’) I could not get my Win98SE past the “Administrators Only” roadblock to scan and fetch updates I need. I looked in the MS not-Knowledge Base, fiddled with ZoneAlarm, uninstalled ZoneAlarm, and even re-installed iectl.cab per MS suggestion, which was part of the problem. Since Windows Update works fine now, do I really need iectl.cab back?

^10 Shanx said on March 5, 2004 10:12 AM:

Hi Michael,

Glad it works for you! I am not sure about the iectl.cab issue, been a while since I used Win 98, but see if you can do without it and if everything seems fine and dandy after a month or so, well its bye bye iectl.cab! (I’d keep it in my system with a new name though, you never know)

I have been able to get the XML 3.0 SP4 Parser installed and working under an local Admin account. However, when I logon with another user ID, the application does not detect the XML parser install and wants to install it, also when I attempt to install the application under that ID, it does not install correctly, it seems to me that there is a security issue, However, I have not been able to locate it.

Do you happen to have any suggestions?

^20 Shashank said on July 19, 2004 2:06 AM:

Hi nroupa, mds,

I do not have access to Windows 98 on hand, but the problems with Windows Update could be several.

Some suggestions:

(1) Do you guys have any firewall installed? Or perhaps some anti-spyware tool that rewrites the HOSTS file to disable access to certain domains? I believe Windows Update is delivered through some Akamai caches ( http://akamai.com ) which may be getting blocked.

(2) Please make sure you have scripting enabled as that is required. In IE, in Tools —> Options, Advanced, put a tick against ‘Disable Script Debugging’ and remove the tick from ‘Display a notification about every script error’.

(3) Are Java and ActiveX installed and enabled?

(4) What are the Update sites that you are trying? Are these enabled in your Security Zones in IE? To add Windows Update to the trusted sites zone, in Tools —> Options —> Security, click the Trusted Sites icon, and then click Sites. Uncheck the “Require server verification” checkbox. Make sure the following URLs are listed in the Web Sites list box:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Let me know how it goes!

I’ve been in contact with a dutiful and determined windows tech via e-mail, but nothing we’ve tried has worked. (Been through almost a dozen suggestions) I tried the first set of instructions at the top of this page, but when I got to the \Program Files\WindowsUpdate\, I found the folder is empty. Don’t know if that helps. I didn’t try any of the other fixes since they seem to deal with other problems. I would be indebted to anyone eternally if they can help me solve this issue. TIA immensely.

We had a problem with several of our computers here when trying to perform Windows updates. Our situation happend when going to the Update page. The malfunctioning computers would say they were checking, then quickly drop to a page that said something else was running, need to restart your computer and then try again. The error code was 0x8DDD0007.

Microsoft sent us three pages of things to try to correct the problem but none of them worked. This week we found a registry entry related to Windows updates that told the computer to require a reboot. Once this registry entry is removed and the new Windows update is installed, everything works correctly. The registry entry is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto
Update\RebootRequired

We have applied it on most of our computers that had this problem and they are now running smoothly.

I’ve shut down both the microsoft firewall and zone alert firewall. Still, the net.framework 1.1 service pack 1 will not load.

Why can’t microsoft come up with an update that users can use which will work its way through these errors or clearly give you step-by-steps to take to get it to load.

When I loaded the first XP update a week ago, it took a total of 13 hours to install. That was unreal. Now this one won’t even get started.

Can anyone help me an others like me with this update. I think the microsoft update package is a bust. It is almost impossible to upload.

Bob:This is what I’ve said before, turn off the firewalls and get out from behind the proxies, then it works fine.

Debbie: your problem was different to the actual problem above. Error number: 0x8DDD0007 is simply your Windows Update could not be completed, because your computer(s) required you to restart it in order to finish another(instalation, deinstallation, update) process before commencing.

Error 8007007e: is a Initialization problem that usually occurs when there are corrupted or unregistered system files on your computer, hence the initializing problem by trying to update already corrupted system files. Which is what the M$ updates usually do.

… by the way Zone alarm is not a firewall, it’s more a movement detector(check the name). Zone = Area | Alarm = make noise if movement detected = Zonealarm. If unsollicited movement detected, let user know, you then blocks normal not hamrful trafic. Sorry, just had to get this out.

I don’t find anything useful with Google. MS sent me over to expensive paid support because I have a domain, despite the fact that there are no auto update domain policies, and despite the fact that only one machine of many has the problem.

The usual regsvr32 things didn’t work; nor did clearing temps, etc.

Anyone have some ideas?

Barry, which ISP do you use? They may have a proxy setup that triggers that check. You could try speaking with your ISP’s customer support. Alternatively, and forgive this silly idea that has worked for some, try stopping by a hot-point at Starbucks or something if your neighborhood has such a place, and try connecting from there. It usually works, in which case you have confirmed that the problem is with the ISP setup you have.

Another question: do you use a Wireless LAN or some other personal networking hardware like Linksys or Netgear?

ACDCchica: go here http://support.microsoft.com/?id=816702

Derek: this is based on a winerror.h, this means the security credentials do not exist. What the log says is “the security credentials for the synchronisation cannot be found”. There is nothing wrong with XPSP2(network or standalone installation), when such things occur, it’s mostly that, security problems were always there just not detected, and the update to newer components just brought it to the open. It may help to deinstall the package and consider the local installation as opposed to the network i.e. burn it to a CDROM

hope this helped some.

^42 Derek Jason said on October 8, 2004 7:31 AM:

So your suggesting to reinstall SP2, will it even allow me to do so? And, instead of installing from the network, burn a local copy from the network to a CD and then load it from the CD. Are you suggesting a file or some sort of security setting wasnt set properly during the install? The response was a little vague, and a little ambiguouse regarding the similarity between the install from the local device rather then a network install.

^43 jkue said on October 8, 2004 7:50 PM:

Derek,
your attempted antagonism mixed with a bit of misguided sarcasm for someone in the ditch is far fetched. What I am suggesting now, is USE google

1. http://www.google.com/search?q=0x80090305&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
2. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=error+code+0x80090305&btnG=Search

read the results and GO check your network installation AGAIN. This error has ONLY to do with missing security credentials, by the way, comments are worth just what you paid for them, go figure Wink

Peter, that’s not a big error. Have you tried using the browser to manually go to the NEW version of Windows Update (version 5) and downloading the updates like that, instead of having the automatic installer do it for you? Let me know.

^54 Mike said on October 27, 2004 3:16 PM:

Windows Update stopped working sometime in August. Froze at 0%. Working with MS WU Support, they sent me the SP2 Disk. All updates install fine if I install them manually (go to Web site, download to desktop, install) Windows SP2 installed fine too. No errors. However, it still did not correct the problem of windows updates not installing. The down loader is failing. The last error message showed error 0x8024000c (which I understand is minor). The error just prior to this was:

DM: pDownloadJob->Init failed with 0x80070003.
2004-10-27 00:07:35-0500 820 564 Got error (hr = 80070003) starting update 0 in call 9. Notifying call.
2004-10-27 00:07:35-0500 820 564 Error 80070003 occurred while downloading update; notifying dependent calls.

I have tried WU in safe mode, but it won’t even load in save mode. I have disabled Norton AV and firewall but download still fails. Scanned with Ad Aware and SpyBot, both are clean.

I have scanned several websites for weeks but have not found a solution. Since August, I have seen this (Windows Update freeze at 0%) on about 20 different PC’s with all different configurations. I have seen several web postings on the subject but no solutions (short of a total re-install). The latest MS recommendation was the SP2 installation, however, it did not correct the problem. Anyone out there seen or heard of a solution to this?

Mike, I have the same problem with the error code 0x80070424 as you did and was planning on reinstalling Windows XPSP2 from a CD. Apparently that didn’t solve the windows update problem. Have you gotten any further on the problem? Would it be worthwhile to deinstall SP2 and reinstalling SP1 followed by SP2??

Thanks,

^56 Mike said on November 3, 2004 7:48 PM:

aapjr - I have read a couple of posts where other people have tried to uninstall SP2 and had even more problems. There are thousands of PC’s out there with this problem and so far I have not been able to determine what is causing it or how to correct it. Microsoft acknowledged that the WU downloader is not running but other than the SP2 CD (which didn’t correct it) or format and reinstall they haven’t been able to offer much more.

I came across this forum which seemed to have some knowledgeable readers. So I thought I would give it a try. So far, you’re the only response. I’ll keep looking and post a fix if I ever come across one.

Solution! (Well for me anyway…)

Try running:

regsvr32 wuaueng.dll

This will re-register the Windows Update class. I definitely had a couple of viruses which did some nasty things to my PC and I’m pretty sure one of them disabled this.

(Check your process list in task manager and see if you have one of these processes running:

lsvchost.exe
csmrs.exe

If so, you probably have a virus. Kill the process, and do a search on the web to find out how to remove it.

The weird thing is I only found this virus by chance. The Symantec web site actually lists the lsvchost.exe process as a virus, and explains it in great detail, yet when I run a scan on it, it doesn’t detect it. Go figure…? I had to remove it manually.

Hope this helps.

Aussie Tom and Tech: Thanks - Great advice. I wish this were a couple of days sooner. My Microsoft tier 2 support experience drew a blank. After spending 4 more hours trying every suggestion under the sun they advised me to reformat the hard drive and re-install all of my applications. I figured I put in close to 10 hours messing with this so I took their advice. I have just completed that task and am working on a backup image to revert to in the event of a repeat. So far, everything is working. I know of a half dozen other PC’s with this same problem so I will attempt this 1st before Reformatting and reinstalling those PC’s.

tech: your post was a great help. My problems were as follows:

1. I was unable to turn on automatic updates via security center. It would give me a message stating it was “unable to turn on the updates…….try turning them on via the system tab under security”.
The updates were set to automatic under the system>security tab but i would not receive any updates.

2. I would try to update manually via windowsupdate.com where I would get the 0x80070424 error message.

I applied what I now fondly refer to as the “tech method” and bingo!…..everything is working fine now. Thank you!!!!

Like #36 - Barry Press said on September 26, 2004 01:57 PM: I have the same problem, which is that when I try and get updates for windows as it searches for updates it requires me to authenticate a proxy server. As I don’t have one, confirmed by proxycfg as “Direct Access” this is an impossible request, hence I get “Error number: 0x8024401B”.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do? MS just point me towards my OEM (Acer) which so far I haven’t been able to contact (their phone lines seem to be continuously engaged).

The so called “Tech Method” (post #64) was a winner.
After removing a heap of spyware and viruses from a clients machine it would not update.
The update would not turn on in the security center or system. I new it was some thing to do with BITS and it was stopped in the services.msc.
Thanks for a great forum and KUDOS to tech.

^89 Rob said on March 1, 2005 10:55 PM:

Hi, I’m having a problem with Windows Updates not working. I am in the midst of creating ZenWorks images at my job. We have several different Dell computer types. To make things a bit easier I installed winxp OS and applications on one PC type (Optiplex GX1) and created an image of the system and then proceeded to put the same image on the next PC type (Optiplex GX110) hoping that I could avoid having to install OS and applications (a time consuming process) again. Well, the GX110 BSOD’ed after putting the GX1 image on it. So I proceeded to do a Windows XP repair. Well, the OS and applications now work great, but it seems that in going through the repair process it broke Windows Update Services. I tried a second machine type (this time a laptop) with a different image I had (from a GX280), ran a repair on the system and the exact same thing happened (Windows Update broke). Windows Update will no longer load in the browser (IE6 SP1). It freezes and hangs the browser. The only way out is to End Task on the browser. Also when attempting to use the Automatic Updates icon in Control Panel I get an exception error.
The exact error is as follows:

(Title Bar of error reads RUNDLL) An exception error occured while trying to run “shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL “C:\Windows\System32\wuaucpl.cpl”,Automatic Updates”.

So far I have tried a few things to see if I can fix this…

1. Started and stopped all Windows Update and WMI services.

2. Unregistered and re-registered all DLL’s having to do with Windows Update and WMI

3. Ran SFC /SCANNOW to check for replaced system files.

4. Deleted all files from %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\wbem\Repository and let Windows XP recreate them, as well as run the following:
winmgmt/clearadap
winmgmt/kill
winmgmt/unregserver
winmgmt/regserver
winmgmt/resyncperf

5. Rename Software Distribution folder under %SYSTEMROOT%

6. And finally Re-applied Service Pack 1a.

So, I am at the point where I need some further assistance on this. I don’t want to have to scrap this and start a new image and have to install OS and apps again, and I don’t want to deploy an image that already has a problem either. If anyone has any suggestions, I am listening. My final thing to do would be to contact Microsoft and see what they have to say.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone has!

Error-code 0x80090305 Solution (hopefully!)

I had major problems with SP2. After the automatic download, Microsoft Update and my secure ‘https’ pages did not work anymore.

After removing SP2 the problem remained.
Tried everything and spoke to the MS Helpdesk for a week.

Finally we got it sorted out.
Something with the dssenh.dll file and a subsequent Coding strength of 0 bits (see IE under Help, Info).

Solution was:
* run ‘chkdsk /f /r’ in Start, Run
* find the dll file that is corrupt
* find/get the correct the dll file and delete the corrupt one
* run under Start, run ‘cmd’
* copy and paste the following command after the cursor:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 licdll.dll
regsvr32 regwizc.dll
regsvr32 licwmi.dll
* wait and restart your pc
* check in IE of Coding strength is back at 128 bits
* MS Update and rest should work correctly now

Other common solution to the 0x80090305 problem that should work according to MS Helpdesk is:
* run ‘cmd’
* copy and paste after cursor:
regsvr32 /s softpub.dll
regsvr32 /s wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 /s urlmon.dll
regsvr32 /s browseui.dll
regsvr32 /s shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 /s jscript.dll
regsvr32 /s vbscript.dll
regsvr32 /s actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 /s mshtml.dll
* wait for system to give “dllregister succeeded/geslaagd initpki.dll”. This can take a while.
* restart your system

The correct system date & time are also very important, as noticed by many users.

Good luck!!!

Onno

Solution! (Well for me anyway…)

Try running:

regsvr32 wuaueng.dll

This will re-register the Windows Update class. I definitely had a couple of viruses which did some nasty things to my PC and I’m pretty sure one of them disabled this.

Thanks James!

That fixed my problem too!

usually will fix windows update issues sp1 and sp2

All I can say is ‘Yes it did!’ and thank you so much! All the Microsoft suggestions were based on error numbers, but update was just not working at all. Now it is and it’s all thanks to tech. Wish I’d found this thread earlier as I’d tried so many things and nothing worked.

Onno,

Your suggestion worked for me. It turned out that dssenh.dll was missing. I copied it to the Windows system32 folder, registered the dll, rebooted, and Windows Update works great. The encryption in Internet Explorer went from 0-bit to 128-bit, as it should be.

Hello, hope you can help. I have a laptop with xp pro and have iis set up on it, to do some web development. When I go to Windows Updates, to download SP2, I receive a prompt for a User Name and Password. I enter my username and password for my laptop, which is what is seems to want. Hi,

When I go to http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?ln=en-us and then click on “View installation history”, the installed hotfixes are shown.

I wonder where this information is stored. Using File Monitor, I learn that wuauclt.exe is trying to read file C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\v4\iuhist.xml

However, this file does not exist. So, where is it stored?

Thanks for your suggestions!!!!!!

^103 Mayhem said on June 9, 2005 10:59 PM:

Why not just see your Control Panel — Add/Remove Programs? The hotfixes are listed there.

Kept getting error 80072ee2. I run ICS and none of the clients could update, got the same error. Tried everything the internet had to offer. Indications were that something was wrong with my home network because there was another https page that wouldn’t load. After about 20 hours of trying everything on 2 computers that kept failing, I uninstalled the ethernet connection which goes from the ICS host to the home network, rebooted and let XP home reinstall the device. Voila, no more problems. Very elusive and time consuming!!!

Help please with what I believe is a different variant. of the WU problem.

Following a LiveUpdate of Symantec Internet Security, my PC required a reboot. I am running XP SP2 and now get an error message of 0x8007007e on Reboot which then freezes the whole PC. The only way into the PC is to reboot to the command prompt
without networking. Looking at WIndowsUpdate.log then shows an error message of 0x8024000C with a comment about AutoUpdate at Shutdown failed.

Since the pc is now non-functional, I have tried (I believe) all suggestions above and a lot of others on Google/M$ etc. although I am severaly hampered because I can’t do a proper reboot… I am trying to get way from a complete system rebuild. Help *really* appreicated… TIA!
