All about Knoppix
I’m also using Knoppix as my main Linux operating system now, because I ran out of room on my hard drive for Mandrake. Knoppix runs off a CD, and I use the extra space on my backup drive as a persistent home directory so that files and settings are saved each time.
It won’t be long before it is easy enough for mere mortals to remaster their own custom Knoppix CDs, loaded with applications targeted for specific audiences, maybe even as specific as a class of students. There are already dozens of Knoppix customizations, including educational, medical, and scientific versions. Pretty cool!

I have been using Knoppix on my home comp for about a month or two now and am very very impressed. This live cd is honestly really the best distro i have used ever. I liked it so much that I was motivated to write a longish article on linux and knoppix on my blog (vritti.net).
